POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Accountant will play a pivotal role within CURE, reporting budget activities across multiple projects, departments, and grants. This role will also be responsible for processing CURE expense reports. This position requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, project managers and department heads. The Project Accountant will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant with a passion for making a difference in CURE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Financial Reporting for Projects, Departments, Grants, and Budgets (45% of time):
- Prepare financial reports to track revenue and spending for projects, grants, and departments.
- Prepare monthly budget to actual reports and distribute them to department managers.
- Expense Report Processing (45% of time)
- Review submitted reports for proper supporting documentation and coding.
- Send reminders and follow-up with missing or late reports.
- Manage workflow to ensure timely recording of reports.
- General Accounting (10% of time):
- Record general journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, as needed.
- Research and examine accounting discrepancies as needed.
- Assist the finance team with other projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Support and enforce financial controls and policies to ensure proper financial management and safeguarding of organizational assets.
- Support periodic audits to assess adherence to financial procedures and identify areas for improvement.
