HR Assistant (Part-time, 20-25hours/week)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Serves as an assistant in the Human Resources department at our Corporate Office. Focuses on HR administrative tasks, CURE culture, co-worker engagement and the workplace experience. Provides administrative support to the Chief Human Resource Officer.
Champions and supports initiatives which ensure co-workers have a strong understanding of CURE’s mission, vision, and values. Leads and maintains programming that develops strong co-worker connections to the CURE culture. Interacts with both prospective and current co-workers, participating in the selection process and lasting through the employee lifecycle. Ensures that the Human Resource department administration runs smoothly and in accordance with all applicable laws and standards.
This is a part-time (20-25 hours per week) onsite position which will work from the CURE International Corporate Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI, USA. Candidates must live within a drive-able distance. Relocation assistance is not provided.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop workplace experience activities that further cultivate the expression of, and alignment to, CURE Values.
- Process I-9’s, background checks and other employment verifications.
- Draft offer letters and contracts per organization standards and policies.
- Liaise with the Spiritual department regarding Weekly Devotions content and delivery.
- Identify and organize relevant Lunch & Learn sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, data, and information management.
- Define, coordinate and deliver Co-worker Recognition programming and events.
- Champion the workplace experience plan, including office layout, seating arrangement and office comforts.
- Actively participate in various Human Resource initiatives, as assigned.
- Assist with talent acquisition initiatives and coordinate the scheduling and interview process.
- Execute the onboarding and assimilation process for New Hires.
- Provide administrative support to the CHRO and other members of the Human Resources team.
- Implement engagement measurements and evaluation tools.
- Facilitate office tasks relating to the GR office space (e.g., facility requests, key fobs, parking passes, etc.)
- Maintain documentation to a high degree of accuracy for records retention and management.
- Compile and assess data into reports to inform decision making.
- Assist with coordination of logistics related to the mobilization of new international co-workers, including in partnership with the Global Outreach Department:
- Travel arrangements to the field location.
- Pre-field, cross-cultural training (through an outside vendor).
- Housing.
- In-country transportation (vehicle).
- Visas, medical licenses, work and residency permits.
- School enrollments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience in a human resources or administrative support role in a multi-faceted work environment.
- Proficient with technology and systems (e.g., Google Suite, HRIS, Excel, ERP, etc.)
- Previous experience in a non-profit, international service organization preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong understanding of document control with detailed accuracy.
- Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally.
- Familiarity with all state and federal regulations related to the human resources function.
