Network Engineer - Infrastructure Lead
CURE is seeking candidates for an exceptional opportunity for a Network Engineer (Infrastructure Lead), a Mission Support Center (headquarters) connected position that will be physically located somewhere on the African continent. The Network Engineer (Infrastructure Lead) is responsible for the Infrastructure portion of the CURE International information technology portfolio, with a strong focus on solutions that support remote monitoring. This position is focused on the standards, health, monitoring, and management of the information technology infrastructure in CURE hospitals and offices. This includes, but is not limited to, the wireless and wired networks in CURE facilities, supporting ISP relationship management, equipment purchasing, and remote system administration.
Perform network architecture, health monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
Provide oversight of change management in CURE hospitals and offices around the information technology infrastructure.
Support the oversight, management, review, and hiring of IT Lead positions in CURE facilities.
Support infrastructure and IT purchasing in CURE facilities.
Serve as a support specialist to CURE facilities with regard to IT infrastructure issues that are beyond the capacity of local, available resources.
Qualified candidates for this position will possess the following:
Bachelors degree in computer or information science or an equivalent amount of related experience.
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a network engineer.
Experience in international travel and networking in low-resourced environments.
Data networking skills.
Vendor selection and management skills.
Personnel review, interviewing, and management skills.
A focus on modern network architectures and cloud-based technologies whenever feasible.
System administration skills (primarily Unix-based solutions).
Extensive passion for, interest in, and experience with network hardware and software solutions.
