Information Technology Support Specialist monitors and maintains the computer systems and networks of an organization. He or she is responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the installation and implementation of all Information systems at the Hospital, including the Electronic Medical Records system and the Hospital Information Systems (FileMaker)
- Perform data entry and data analysis functions necessary to maintain the integrity of the data in the Hospital systems.
- Provide support and assistance to all departments (clinical, finance, administrative, and medical records) to develop and maintain strong procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy in how we utilize our Information Systems.
- Become a “power user”/expert for our Information Systems to facilitate training and assistance for other users throughout the Hospital.
- Communicate timely and clearly with management, the CURE International home office, IT vendors, and outside technical support on any and all issues related to the hospital information systems.
- Monitor and maintain the IT and IS systems of the Hospital and interface with outside technical support as necessary
- Monitor and maintain another telephone, electronic and audiovisual systems at the Hospital.
- Maintain and troubleshoot devices and systems, hardware, and software.
- Document system performance, bugs, debugging, and program requirements.
- Follow maintenance protocols to ensure systems are secure and ready for users.
- Lead design and deployment of servers, directories, wireless, backups, and personal devices.
- Design, develop, and test interfaces and upgrades to existing systems (FileMaker).
- Monitor the system, set up automated alerts, and performance notifications to proactively address problems.
- Train end users in access, security, use, and customization of programs and software.
- Troubleshoot, upgrade, monitor, and diagnose application and system problems to enable ongoing business.
- Respond to problems in workflow or unmet business needs with strategies and potential solutions.
OTHER DUTIES
- Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g. Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc.
- Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related course.
- License/Certificate Required: None
- Minimum Experience Required: Minimum one (1) year of IT experience, preferably in programming. Experience and knowledge of Bizbox and Filemaker is an advantage.

- Computer literate, strong keyboarding skills,
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to be flexible with changing demands;
- Ability to work independently;
- Good organization skills and ability to multi-task.
