POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Diagnostic Medical Radiographer provides specialised paediatric imaging for orthopaedic and reconstructive surgeries. The role involves operating advanced digital equipment and C-Arms to assist in diagnoses and intraoperative assessments while ensuring all services meet strict clinical and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performing radiological procedures and examinations on patients sent for the same and availing the results to the referring clinicians.
- Liaising with clinical staff in the preparation of patients for radiological examinations
- Preparing and educating patients for radiological procedures by giving proper instructions concerning the examination required.
- Identifying and referring cases needing specialised imaging as appropriate.
- Ensuring radiation protection for patients, caregivers, hospital staff and the environment
- Ensuring that proper entries and recordings, as well as the privacy of the patients' information, are maintained
- Applying the professional code of ethics in all aspects of radiology practice
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with the Radiation Protection Authority, City laws, bylaws and Hospital Standards of SafeCare, and always adhering to the professional Code of Conduct in the execution of his/her duties
- Ensure that there is continuous availability of X-ray consumables.
- Performing quality control measures to ensure optimal quality images, and is in charge of all quality activities concerning this position as per the Hospital SafeCare Standards.
- Operation and routine maintenance of the equipment to ensure they are safe, functional and ready for use, as well as arranging with the bio-medical staff for routine and basic maintenance of the same.
- Compiles and submits relevant periodic reports as required.
- Degree in Medical Imaging Sciences
- Two years of experience in the field
