Rehab Technician
JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the provision of rehabilitation services to patients in the peri-operative and post-operative phases under the supervision of a physiotherapist.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage clubfoot cases using the Ponseti method.
Apply back slabs and plaster of Paris appropriately.
Train patients in the use of mobility aids as prescribed for their specific conditions.
Provide a range of physical treatments within their scope of practice to resolve, restore, or maintain a physical condition, as directed by the physiotherapist.
Assist the physiotherapist during procedures requiring multiple personnel to handle or mobilize patients.
Adhere to established patient care standards, treatment protocols, and documentation procedures.
Communicate patient needs, concerns, and progress to the physiotherapist promptly and effectively.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date treatment notes that document clinical interventions provided.
Participate in ongoing personal and professional development through relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, both internal and external.
Report any equipment malfunction to the appropriate personnel immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Certificate or Diploma in Medical Rehabilitation.
Current licensure with the Medical Rehabilitation Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a private practice, hospital, or rehabilitation facility.
Experience working with children is essential.
Must be computer literate and comfortable using electronic medical records or digital documentation tools.
