Paediatrician
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Pediatrician provides comprehensive medical care to CURE patients, including infants, children, adolescents, and young adults by monitoring growth and development and managing illnesses. In addition to delivering direct clinical services, this role holds operational leadership responsibilities for key clinical departments, including Radiology, Pharmacy, and Laboratory. The position ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care through multidisciplinary collaboration, adherence to clinical governance standards, and continuous quality improvement. This role combines clinical expertise with administrative oversight to align departmental operations with the organization’s overall healthcare objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
A. Clinical Duties
- Conduct regular thorough examinations of patients to assess health status and record normal physical development.
- Examine unwell patients, particularly children, to determine their condition and gather relevant clinical information through patient history and symptoms.
- Reach informed diagnoses based on scientific knowledge, examination findings, and medical history.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and provide clear instructions on dosage and administration.
- Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests to support diagnosis and identify abnormalities or infections.
- Provide medical clearance for patients scheduled for surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all clinical changes.
- Treat minor injuries and refer patients to specialists when necessary, ensuring clear communication and follow-up with the attending surgeon.
- Advise patients and/or parents on preventive healthcare measures, including diet, exercise, vaccinations, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records for all patient encounters, including illness history, treatments, allergies, surgeries, and complications.
- Review in-patient cases on the ward when requested by the attending surgeon and contribute to patient management plans.
- Participate actively in continuing professional development through workshops, seminars, and clinical training to maintain current knowledge and skills.
B. Leadership & Departmental Oversight
- Provide operational oversight of Radiology, Pharmacy, and Laboratory departments to ensure the delivery of timely, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Collaborate with department heads and clinical teams to streamline workflows, improve patient outcomes, and promote interdisciplinary cooperation.
- Monitor departmental and team performance using KPIs and quality benchmarks; implement improvements where needed.
- Ensure compliance with national regulations, safety standards, and hospital policies in all supervised departments.
- Support staffing, training, and development needs within Radiology, Pharmacy, and Laboratory teams.
- Contribute to hospital-wide clinical governance initiatives, risk management, and accreditation processes.
- Participate in strategic planning for service expansion, equipment upgrades, and process optimization across clinical departments

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A Medical degree and the successful completion of a residency and fellowship in pediatrics.
- A license and certification to practice pediatrics.
- Current and unrestricted medical license
- Two (2) years experience in a private or hospital practice
- ACLS, BLS & PALS certified (these can be updated in the hospital)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Moderate ability with the English language required, fluency preferred. Fluency in one of the local language(s) may also be required depending on the location.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to relate to children.
- A caring and compassionate nature when working with children and their families.
