POSITION OVERVIEW:
To undertake plastering procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines while maintaining the hospital quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Document the condition and progress of patients and report to the relevant medical staff any areas of concern.
2. Undertake plastering procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines
3. Assist the departmental staff in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all policies and procedures
4. Comply with all Hospital policies with particular regard to the policies and procedures carried out in maintaining staff and patient safety
5. Report all accidents to the Rehab in-Charge and complete an incident form
6. Ensure that the rights, dignity and confidentiality of the patient are protected at all times
7. Be responsible for maintaining, cleaning and restocking of the plaster room materials
8. To locate appropriate equipment used by the plaster room staff, ensuring the equipment is maintained, Health and Safety checked
9. To undertake designated administration duties to enable the continuity of patient care
10. Ensure compliance with all the requirements of the quality management system (Safecare)
10. To liaise with and communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary in order to ensure the smooth running of the service
11. Assist in the application and removal of all types of casts / splints and other areas of patient rehabilitation as requested both in the in-patient and out- patient
12. To undertake any other duties that may be required, in addition to those attached relating to your specific area
13. Be responsible to provide plaster care education and information to patients and their careers, so that they have an understanding of the appropriate care that is needed as complications may occur.
14. Be legally responsible and accountable, caring, compassionate and professional at all times
15. Manage clinical risk, adhere to standards of patient care, treatment protocols and documentation standards for the facility
16. Perform all key functions with regard to plaster technology and additional, other related functions as directed and also adhering to standards of performance as required by the institution
17. Travel to remote mobile clinics as directed to coordinate and enhance functions between our facility and partner clinics for betterment of patient care
18. In-charge of all quality activities in relation to this position as per the Hospital Standards.
