Are you passionate about working with children and making a lasting impact through faith-based mentorship? We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Mentor to provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and holistic care to children and their families within a hospital environment.
Position Overview
The Children’s Mentor/Counselor provides biblical mentorship, counseling, and psychosocial support to children in a hospital setting. This role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment while building meaningful relationships with children and supporting their families through faith-based guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Share the Gospel, disciple, and pray with children in a hospital setting
Provide biblical counseling and encouragement tailored to individual needs
Plan and facilitate psychosocial activities (e.g., art therapy, play sessions, video programs)
Create and maintain a welcoming, safe, and engaging playroom environment
Support children in developing coping strategies and emotional resilience
Conduct follow-ups with children and families engaged through the ministry
Provide access to faith-based resources such as Bibles and children’s literature
Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure holistic care for patients and families
Support and coordinate children’s ministry programs, including Sunday activities
Mentor and host volunteers involved in children’s ministry
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of playroom equipment in line with infection control standards
Contribute to departmental goals and actively participate in team activities
Requirements
- 5 O'Levels
- Diploma in Theology, Biblical Studies, or Children’s Ministry
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s ministry, including evangelism, discipleship, counseling, and psychosocial support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A heart for ministry and a passion for working with children and families
