Position Overview Summary:

The Counseling Ministry Coordinator leads the development and coordination of a Christ-centered, trauma-informed counseling program within the hospital. As part of the Spiritual Ministry Department, the role supports patients, families, caregivers, and staff through biblically grounded emotional and spiritual care. Working closely with the Spiritual Ministry Director and Network Ministry Coordinator, the Coordinator ensures counseling services are effectively integrated into patient care and staff support systems.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a Christ-centered, trauma-informed counseling program within the hospital.

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to patients, caregivers, and staff.

  • Assess spiritual, emotional, and psychosocial needs and design appropriate interventions.

  • Offer crisis, grief, and stress support related to hospitalization and treatment.

  • Integrate counseling services into ward ministry, family support, and discipleship programs.

  • Collaborate with clinical and ministry teams to promote holistic healing.

  • Develop counseling protocols, tools, and program resources.

  • Train and mentor staff, volunteers, and interns in basic counseling and trauma-informed care.

  • Facilitate workshops on stress management, grief, resilience, and family systems.

  • Maintain confidential records and submit regular reports.

  • Support hospital quality improvement and uphold ethical, professional standards.

  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and sustainable counseling environment.

    Education/Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required
  2. Theological or Christian ministry training (preferred).
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in biblical counseling, trauma care, or psychosocial support (preferably involving children and families).
  4. Experience working with children with disabilities or within hospital settings (preferred).
  5. Certification or training in trauma-informed or pastoral counseling (desired).
