QUALIFICATION:
Education/experience requirements:
- Hold a state licensed and registered nursing degree.
- 2 years of experience and training in the healthcare field
- Previous experience as an operating room nurse desired.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Preoperative preparation:
- Greet and prepare patients for surgery by verifying their identity, explaining the procedures to follow and answering their questions.
- Assist the surgeon and anesthesiologist in preparing the operating room and the patient, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are ready and functional.
- Perform sterilization and aseptic procedures according to established protocols.
Assistance during the procedure:
- Assist the surgeon by providing the necessary instruments and medical devices during the operation.
- Assist the surgeon by holding retractors and help keeping the patient’s position.
- Manage biological samples and samples by preparing them for laboratory analysis.
Postoperative care:
- Assist the surgeon with the application of dressing and/or plaster cast.
- Transfer the patient to the recovery room, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and assess their postoperative condition, taking necessary action in case of complications.
- Ensure follow-up of medical prescriptions and provide appropriate care, particularly regarding pain and infection prevention.
Documentation and coordination:
- Accurately document all interventions, observations and care provided in the electronic medical record.
- Assist in supply chain management by accurately documenting utilization of consumables and implants.
- Coordinate with other members of the medical team to ensure smooth communication and coordinated patient care.
Continuing education:
- Participate in continuing education programs to stay current on the latest advances in surgical practices and technologies.
- Contribute to professional development by sharing knowledge and skills with other team members.
- Flexibility to learn nursing at another location in the hospital
- Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor, if necessary and appropriate.
